Capacity Management is one of five components that constitute ITIL® Service Delivery. Apart from monitoring, analyzing and tuning, the various activities that come under Capacity Management are:
Implementation of changes that is required in resource utilization
Managing the demand for computing resources by understanding the business priorities
Application sizing to ensure that the required service levels are met
Production of a capacity plan that is in line with the cost of each new application or releases documents for current utilization and forecasted requirements
Analysis of performance data to find application bottlenecks for more timely tuning efforts
Storing capacity management data
Building the annual infrastructure growth plan with input from other teams
